Parking. Why can’t they just put in meters or ticket machine? Or would that
be too easy?

The coffee. You could drift to heaven on the smell
To park in Verona you need a token from a local shop. Some shops sell them
and some don’t, but they don’t all tell you that. So coming in from the
north we eventually find a parking place, but not near any shops. One person
guards the car while the other goes off in search of tokens in temperatures
in the 90’s. No success. Eventually we risk double parking near shops and at
the third attempt find someone selling tokens. Dash back to the car, which
by this time is holding up traffic, and then go back to the first parking
place, which of course has been filled. All this took a good part of the
morning.
Verona has lots of interesting places, to see, but the tourists, not us, all
go to see Juliet’s balcony. She didn’t exist. It is just a story.
